A Tradition of Creative Encouragement

Our roots as a community gallery run deep. Guided by "Bean" Backus's example of fostering the talent of fellow artists at all levels of skill, we organize two annual juried competitions each year for amateurs and professionals alike.

Through the Eye of the Camera

Typically staged in the late spring to conclude the season, Through the Eye of the Camera focuses exclusively on photography as an artistic medium (see below)

Best of the Best

Presented with the grand opening of each season in October, Best of the Best is open to media including: Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Varied Techniques, and Three-Dimensional (see below)

BEST OF THE BEST

Now in its fifth decade, this fine art competition continues to spotlight the best artistic works in different media by amateurs and professionals. Each year the independent jury panel finds and rewards excellence, technique, and presentation with cash prizes.

THROUGH THE EYE OF THE CAMERA

For 30 years, this popular annual competition has been devoted to photography as an art form. Open to amateur and professional artists in both traditional film and digital photography, the exhibition’s independent jury panel offers cash prizes in multiple subject categories.
